The Bible says the wages for breaking God's law is death (that is sin, if you dont think so look here) " For the wages of sin is death", God provided a way to have your sins forgiven... "but the free gift of God is eternal life .." It is a free gift even though we earned death by our sinning.

Through Jesus Christ's death on the cross, we can have forgiveness of sins IF we repent and put our faith and trust (believe in) in Jesus Christ. If we follow Jesus, He will lead us to everlasting life (Paradise).
